So... Hello World

Hey, I'm James 👋

I'm in my 30s, which in internet years makes me basically an old man. I'm a developer, I'm getting married soon (!), and I figured I'm finally old enough to stop overthinking things and just start something new. So... here's a blog.

Quick intro

I write code for a living. When I'm not doing that, I'm probably out with my Sony A7C II or poking around some tech thing I don't fully understand yet. Photography and tech stuff are kind of my two things.

Also, fun fact: I don't use social media. No Facebook, no Instagram, no X, nothing. Not trying to make a statement, it's just never really been my thing. The catch is I don't have anywhere to share the stuff I make or find interesting. So that's one big reason this blog exists.

What's gonna be here

• Life: random thoughts, everyday stuff, and probably a few posts about figuring out this whole husband thing
• Photography: photos I've shot on the A7C II, the stories behind them, and stuff I'm learning along the way
• Tech stuff: things I build, break and figure out as a dev, explained the way my brain gets it
• New projects: whenever I start something new, I'll show it off here first

Why a blog though?

Honestly, I just wanted my own little corner of the internet. No algorithms, no chasing likes, just me sharing stuff whenever I feel like it.

I also want to get better at sharing things in general: writing, showing photos properly, and explaining tech stuff so it actually makes sense to other people. This feels like a good place to practise.

And since I built this thing myself, it's also my playground. I'll be testing new ideas and features here, so if something looks weird or breaks, yeah... that's probably me experimenting 😅
